NeckGuard Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 2026
On this page
This policy explains how the NeckGuard app (“NeckGuard,” “we”) on iPhone and Mac handles your data. NeckGuard is built privacy-first: your posture data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to sync it.
What NeckGuard does not do
- No analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
- No microphone or camera access, ever.
- No third-party data collection or sale.
What stays on your device
- Head-motion and posture data. NeckGuard reads head-motion data from compatible headphones to detect posture in real time. This is processed entirely on-device and is never recorded, uploaded, or shared.
- Calibration and settings. Your calibration and app settings stay on each device — they are never synced.
- Session history. Your posture-session history is stored locally on your device unless you turn on iCloud sync (below).
Optional iCloud sync
If you turn it on, NeckGuard syncs only your session history using Apple’s CloudKit, to the private iCloud database tied to your own Apple ID — so your streaks, goals, and levels match across devices. Calibration and settings always stay on each device and are never synced. We — DDCode — never see or store this data on our own servers; it’s Apple’s private per-user CloudKit storage, accessible only to you. Sync is off by default and can be turned off at any time in Settings.
Optional Sign in with Apple
NeckGuard doesn’t require an account. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we store only Apple’s user identifier and your first name, in the Keychain on that device — never your email, and never on a server we control. Sign Out clears it at any time from Settings; Delete Account also permanently deletes your posture history, including iCloud copies if sync is on.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, NeckGuard writes mindful-minutes for your sessions. That’s the only data shared with Health — no posture scores, neck-load estimates, or motion data.
Purchases
NeckGuard Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
Wellness, not medical, data
Posture score and neck-load figures are wellness estimates, not medical measurements. NeckGuard is not a medical device. Talk to a doctor about pain or health decisions.
Children
NeckGuard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will appear here with a new effective date.
